A body of a deceased person was found in the Van Starkenborgh Canal in Groningen at the end of the afternoon.
Research must reveal whether it concerns Thomas van Zeewijk Vink from Groningen. Thomas has been missing since Friday night.
The 25-year-old then left a company party at his work in the Kattenhage just after midnight. He was seen around 1:30 am in the vicinity of the University Medical Center. The police previously announced that they assumed that the man then went to the area near the Van Starkenborgh Canal.
The missing Thomas has been extensively searched for in recent days by colleagues, family, friends and acquaintances. Sonar boats, a helicopter, drones and dogs were also deployed. Volunteers from SAR Netherlands also helped in the search. The police handed out flyers in the hope that people would come forward with tips and images from telephones or doorbell cameras, for example.
