Eintracht Frankfurt will face Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and German coach Alexander Blessin in the intermediate round of the Conference League. This was the result of the draw on Monday at the headquarters of the European Football Union (UEFA) in Nyon, Switzerland. Last season, the Belgians eliminated 1. FC Union Berlin in the round of 16 of the Europa League, but then clearly failed in the quarter-finals against Bayer Leverkusen.
“No one from the Europa League is happy to play against us,” coach Dino Toppmöller explained before the draw. With three wins and three defeats, the SGE record is mixed in what is actually a feasible preliminary group. On February 15th and 22nd there is the chance to do better against a Europa League relegated team and thus book a ticket to the round of 16.

The Eintracht fans dedicate the choreo to the late club legend Jürgen Grabowski. In the second leg at Camp Nou, which was won 3-2, 30,000 came from Frankfurt, plunging the Catalans into a brief club crisis.
