In 2022, noticeably more children with Down syndrome were born in Flanders than in previous years. Couples consciously choose not to interrupt the pregnancy. That also happened to Mila, just 1 year old. Her parents Grégory (41) and Kimberly (38) tell their story to HLN: “We very consciously wanted a child. Well, we have a beautiful daughter. We had to let go of some dreams, but others took their place.”
