Swimming pool operator Farys estimates the urgent maintenance works at more than two million euros. That is a bitter pill to swallow, especially for the municipality of Damme. That is why the municipality wants to stop cooperation with Bruges after this legislature. This way, Bruges would also have all the swimming pools on its territory in its own hands. “This way, Bruges can implement a sound sports policy. That is now, in this situation, a little more difficult because we as Damme still own 7% of the interpool,” says Dams Mayor Joachim Coens.
