FC Bayern | “Needs a break”: Worries about new summer signing

In mid-November, FC Bayern announced the signing of exceptional talent Nestory Irankunda. The 17-year-old will be moving to the Isar next summer. Until then, the youngster will continue to wear the Adelaide United jersey. Now, however, an emotional outburst from the attacker is causing concern.

On Sunday, Adelaide United faced Brisbane Roar with Nestory Irankunda in the starting eleven. The team of FC Bayern’s summer newcomers lost the game against the second-placed team in the A-League 0-2. Irankunda played on the right wing for 58 minutes before being substituted by coach Carl Veart.

TV cameras showed how disappointed the 17-year-old was with his performance. The youngster hid under his jersey and shook his head with tears in his eyes. After leaving the field, the winger could be seen burying his face in his hands.

FC Bayern: Irankunda “is under enormous pressure”

“He’s under a lot of pressure, he’s the great hope of Australian football. You have to remember he’s only 17 and still going through puberty. He has a lot of emotions and a lot of pressure to deal with,” explained Irish attacker Roy O’Donovan told Channel 10.

“He didn’t handle it well today and he didn’t handle it well a few weeks ago. He definitely needs someone to give him a hug and I think he needs a break from football,” the 38-year-old continued. who, in addition to his professional work, also works as a TV expert.

Former professional and coach Luke Wilkshere also shares this view. “You can see that he’s not ready yet. If he wants to get into international football, he has to learn to deal with his emotions. We all want to see him at his best, but for that he has to be clear-headed. Luckily he has people around him who will help him through it,” the 42-year-old clarified with concern.
