In May, 107 potential soldiers started the training, of which 59 ultimately passed. The commander of the barracks is happy with the new addition.
“This move was necessary to get the battalion’s filling in order. There is always room for more, we are not 100 percent filled, but we are satisfied with the filling as we have it now,” says Lieutenant Colonel Ben Haspers, commander of the JWF barracks.
There are currently no plans for a new edition of the training in Assen, but Haspels does not rule out a new recruitment round in the future. “If you get 59 new soldiers, I think that is a very good score.”
