Maxime Meiland’s reputation is not exactly rock-solid. She is already little loved and has also been discredited a number of times. There was the penguin riot: the reality twenties initially supported her mother’s position on Islam, until she was canceled everywhere. Then she suddenly backed down terribly.
Maxim in court?
Maxime later turned out to have also demonstrably lied about Anna Nooshin, but despite the evidence, the Chateau Meiland star refused to apologize. And now there is uncertainty about a claim Maxime makes in her biography. She says she became the victim of a sexual offense at the age of 15, but the ‘perpetrator’ denies it.
In fact, the alleged perpetrator made statements in a major interview with Story that raise quite a few questions. And now he has decided to file a complaint for libel and slander. It could therefore be that Maxime will soon have to appear in court.
Dennis lashes out
What does Dennis Schouten think of it? At 28 years old, he is exactly the same age as Maxime. He sets GossipTalk that she made up the sexual offense for exposure. “Everyone felt sorry for Maxime. Many people think she is not that sympathetic herself. A bit of an affected, spoiled woman, but with a story like that you often do well.”
His co-host Jan Roos is close friends with Jan Dijkgraaf, the biographer of the Meilandjes. Yet, like Dennis, he thinks this seems like a cry for attention: “Yes, that always helps. Then you always get into the ‘ah, sad girl’ phase. Then you can actually write everything down to that.”
“It’s made up!”
Jan finds moral offenses terrible, “but I also don’t think you should make things up.”
Dennis: “Making up a rape might be almost as bad.”
Jan: “Well, I don’t want to say that, because then it just means you’re crazy, but it’s quite a slap in the face to the real victims if you ask me.”
Dennis: “And a slap in the face to the person who accuses you of rape.”
‘These kind of women’
Dennis is finally done with Maxime. “I would like to say something about these types of women. I’m really upset about this. These types of women ensure that as a man you will never be able to sleep with a woman again, because you will get this bullshit afterwards. And because Mrs Maxime later became famous, he is left with the same problem.”
He continues: “That she just comes up with something to make a profit and likeability to grow… I also think it’s a shame that Jan Dijkgraaf just writes that down, because it’s quite something. These kinds of women are shameless and terrible. If SBS is honest they won’t put her in that series anymore. She has nothing to say anyway. An annoying girl.”
