The company itself has reported the incident with a milk chocolate product with honey and almond nougat
The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) this Thursday warned people with allergy or intolerance to milk, almond, soy and egg from the sale of a Toblerone brand chocolate product that contains these ingredients despite not appear on its labeling.
Aesan has detailed in a statement that these undeclared ingredients are found in a milk chocolate product with nougat (10%), honey and almonds from the Toblerone brandweighing 100 grams and with barcode number 7614500010013.
Furthermore, it is found marketed with the following expiration dates: 12/8/2024, 12/15/2024, 12/25/2024, 12/26/2024, 01/07/2025 and 01/24/2025.
The initial distribution of the product has occurred in all the autonomous communities except in La Rioja, Ceuta and Melilla, although it cannot be ruled out that there may be redistributions to these autonomous communities or cities, Aesan has reported.
As a precautionary measure, Aesan has recommended that people allergic or intolerant to the mentioned ingredients to refrain from consuming this product.
For the rest of the population this product does not carry any risk.
According to Aesan, It was the company itself that reported the incident to the competent authorities not to make unsafe food available to the population.
