After a clear success in the German duel against SSC Palmberg Schwerin, Dresdner SC can make it into the quarter-finals of the CEVCups dream.
The Dresdner SC volleyball players have put themselves in a good starting position to reach the quarter-finals in the European CEVCup created. The team coach Alexander Waibl prevailed in front of 1,778 spectators in the first leg of the round of 16 against SSC Palmberg Schwerin in a hard-fought game with a score of 3-0 (30:28, 25:23, 25:22). The decision will be made in the second leg next Tuesday in Schwerin. Winning two sets would be enough for the Elbe townspeople to advance.
Dresden fends off set balls
In the first two sections, the Schwerin women dictated the action with powerful tasks, clever blocking and field defense. They also used their chances better in attack than the DSC. But in the final phase of the first round, the Waibl protégés fought for every ball with passion and ever better defense, fended off four opposing set points, and Jennifer Janiska converted her own second set point.
DSC had strong nerves again in the second set
