Turbine Potsdam will have to do without the services of Nina Ehegötz in the future. The 25-year-old striker has “decided to end her career at her own request,” as the club announced on Monday.
“I would like to thank all my team-mates, the club and of course the fans for their support and the many beautiful moments. I wish Turbine all the best for the future,” Ehegötz was quoted as saying in a press release.
The offensive player came to Potsdam from Bayern Leverkusen in 2017. She scored 16 goals in 76 Bundesliga games for Turbine. In addition, Ehegötz scored nine times for Potsdam in twelve cup games. For the DFB she wore the jersey with the federal eagle from the U15 to U20.
“We thank you for your years of commitment, on and off the field and respect your decision. We wish her all the best for her future path,” said head coach Sofian Chahed.
