A cyclist was seriously injured in a collision at a crossing on the Waddenweg in Hoofddorp. Cyclists have priority over other traffic there. The Waddenweg is completely closed.
The cyclist was hit by a car and landed with his head on the windshield of the car, after which he fell onto the asphalt. The police told a reporter at the scene.
Two ambulances responded to the accident to provide assistance and a trauma team arrived on site. The victim is said to have resisted. After the necessary care, he was transferred to the AMC by ambulance. The driver of the car was not injured.
The Waddenweg is completely closed due to the accident. The forensic traffic investigation team will further investigate the case.
