Placebo are releasing their first major live box set

In 25 years of their career, Placebo will announce a box set with live recordings for the first time on Tuesday (November 21st). It is also the first time that the band’s live performances will be available on vinyl. The compilation consists of recordings recorded during their shows in Mexico, Spain and London. The release is scheduled for December 15th. You can already pre-order the set.

These albums are included in the live box set

The works that will be included in the “Placebo Live” box set are titled “Collapse Into Never: Placebo Live In Eupope 2023”, “This Is What You Wanted” (the band’s performances in Mexico City in the summer) and “ Live From The White Room”. The latter contains pieces from the current album “Never Let Go”, which they recorded in the Studio One recording rooms in Twickenham in 2022.

But tracks from earlier albums will also be extensively represented.

The records will also be presented as a Softpak gatefold CD, while the recordings will be available on Blu-ray in Mexico.

In August, Placebo’s Brian Molko was sued for libel by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after he made critical comments at a concert in Turin. Videos from the concert show Molko describing Meloni in Italian as “a piece of shit, fascist, racist” and saying “fuck you” during the band’s performance in front of 10,000 fans at the Sonic Park Festival.
