A rough start for Finland in the Davis Cup – Yöttöhirmu defeats

Finland and Canada will play in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup final tournament.

The Finnish national tennis team is playing in the Davis Cup final tournament for the first time in history, where the eight best countries made it.

Jarkko Nieminen piloting, Finland faces reigning champion Canada in the quarter-finals.

Emil Ruusuvuoren after having to stay on the sidelines due to injury, was lifted for the opening match Patrick from Kaukovawhich meets Milos Raonic.

Rude start

The Canadian made it clear right from the start that he was going to keep the points short. Raonic handled his first serve with four aces.

Kaukovalta, however, persevered in the set by taking care of his first three serving shifts. Raonic then broke for 5–3 and won the set by holding serve.

Raonic hit ten aces in the 1st set, Kaukovta three. The passing shots (6–4) also went to the Canadian.
