A shooting took place in a coffee shop on the Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam Center at 10:21 p.m. One person was injured. The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance. “Two suspects fled in a car in the direction of Damstraat,” said a police spokesperson.
According to a witness, the victim was hit in a critical spot and the person was taken to hospital in a life-threatening situation.
In addition to the police and ambulance, an air ambulance was also called in and landed at the naval complex. The police and forensic experts are investigating on site. The area is cordoned off with ribbon.
Earlier this evening, at 9:45 p.m., I found one armed robbery at a coffee shop on Derde Oosterparkstraat. Two men with knives took the plunder. It is unclear whether the two incidents are related.
