“Responding to an accident often comes with a feeling of helplessness. Now we can really do something.” Guido Snick (56) has hardly seen his bed in the last week. The fire captain of Lo-Reninge worked day and night against the rising water in the Westhoek. The liters of soup, cakes and pancakes in the barracks say it all: Guido and his men are heroes there. This is the account of his week.
