Two men were injured on Saturday evening when their car crashed into a tree on the service road along the A67 near Lierop. Their crashed car was discovered by a man driving along the highway and saw the car. One of the men was seriously injured.
The accident happened on the Hogeweg in Lierop, a service road along the A67. A narrow road with trees along it. The car with the young men inside left the road and crashed into a tree. No other cars were involved in the accident.
It is not entirely clear how long the crashed car was against the tree. A man driving on the highway saw the car on the service road and drove to it, he told our 112 correspondent. “Nobody stopped at all, everyone just kept driving,” he said.
When he arrived at the car, someone else had also arrived and the emergency services had been called. One of the young men was seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. It is not clear what condition the other man is in. He was also taken to hospital.
