The incident happened at 7:30 PM when entering Elverdinge from Woesten. Two vehicles collided heavily, with a parked car also hit by flying debris. Despite the damage, both the Fiat 500 and the Mercedes were on different sides of the road, allowing traffic to flow.
The Arro Ypres police zone made the necessary findings. A 21-year-old woman wanted to drive her Fiat onto the road from a parking lane and was hit by the Mercedes, driven by a 46-year-old man from Lo-Reninge with a 22-year-old passenger from Kortrijk. The passenger was thrown from the car and was injured, but his injuries were minor. The driver of the Mercedes took a breath test which gave an ‘alarm’.
