23-year-old skier Ingrid Andrea Gulbrandsen made a big splash in the opening race of the Norwegian Cup in Beitostölen, NRK news.
To everyone’s surprise, Gulbrandsen broke the bottom time in the traditional sprint qualifying. He was no less than 5.38 seconds faster than the others. Among other things, last winter’s WC sprint victory was left behind Kristine Skistad.
The performance made the jaws of those present drop. This is a quite unknown skier’s promise even in Norway.

Gulbrandsen was also the fastest in the sprint quarterfinals. In the semi-finals and the final, he narrowly lost to Skistad, and in the end was second with a difference of 0.39 seconds. However, the 2021 World Cup sprint stoppage was left behind Anna Svendsen.
Last week, Gulbrandsen was third in the traditional sprint at the Olos cannonball competition.
