She worked with Parker on “Houdini” and more tracks together are to follow – a dream for Dua Lipa.
For her current single “Houdini“ Dua Lipa got support from Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. She now made it public in an interview that she valued the singer, songwriter and producer very much before they worked together.
Opposite “Triple J“ The pop star revealed that Tame Impala’s 2015 album CURRENTS changed her life, making her even happier that she was able to work on her new track with him as producer. Specifically, she said in the conversation: “When it comes to things that I’m obsessed with, ‘Currents’ is the soundtrack of my life. It’s one of my favorite albums of all time. For me it was like the gateway drug to Tame Impala. It completely changed my life and so it was very, very cool to work with him in that way.“
She further explained that working on music together went beyond the single “Houdini”: “I’ve always looked up to him as someone who really inspired me, and he was always on my dream board of people I wanted to work with . We were both surprised at how well we fit together in the studio and how well it worked and how much fun it was working together. We made some really fun songs.“
