Who beheaded actress Inge Keller (†93)?
Terrible discovery at the Dorotheenstädtischen Friedhof in Mitte: The grave of actress Inge Keller, who died in 2017, was destroyed. Specifically, it’s about the severed head of the artist, who was a star at the Deutsches Theater for decades.
Sculptor Sabina Grzimek (80) created the bust from bronze. She said to the BZ yesterday: “This is the first time I’ve heard of this.”
The all-clear comes from stonemason restorer Carlo Wloch (75). He put the bust on the pedestal three years ago. “And I removed them last week,” he says. Reason: “Ms. Keller would have been 100 years old on December 10th. Reason for the family to redesign the grave.”

Keller’s daughter Barbara Schnitzler (70, actress) from her marriage to GDR chief propagandist Karl-Eduard von Schnitzler († 83, nickname Sudel-Ede) ordered a new base from Wloch, which she inspected in his studio on Monday. “If she likes my work, then the grave site will look perfect again just in time for her mother’s birthday. Of course also with the bust, which is currently safely stored in my workshop,” says Wloch.
There is then talk of Inge Keller’s final resting place becoming a grave of honor for the Berlin Senate.
