Max Verstappen, the Dutch pilot of the Red Bull team, who became the world champion in Formula 1 for the 3rd time in a row, also won the Mexican Grand Prix.
Verstappen, who finished the race in first place over 71 laps at the 4,304-kilometer Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit in the capital Mexico, climbed to the top of the podium for the 16th time this season.
The Dutch athlete improved his record for the “most first places in a season”, which he broke with 15 races won last season, in Mexico.
In Mexico, where Mercedes’ British pilot Lewis Hamilton came in second, Ferrari pilot Charles Leclerc came in third.
The 21st race of the championship, the Brazilian Grand Prix, will be held on Sunday, November 5.
