The Israeli government has provided the Shakhtar midfielder with a car to leave Ukraine: a journey to Warsaw that lasted over a day
Four hundred and fifty kilometers and more than a day to save himself from the war. It’s the Odyssey of Shakhtar Donetsk Manor Solomon’s Israeli midfielder, who is now likely to breathe a sigh of relief from Warsaw after a trip lasting more than a day.

Solomon was taken away from Kiev, where his entire team is stopped in a hotel in the center, thanks to the initiative of the Israeli foreign and sports ministers, who provided him with a Ukrainian car and driver and were in constant contact with him. So yesterday morning the two crossed Kiev and after 16 hours of travel by car they managed to cover the 450 kilometers that separate Kiev from the border to Poland. It didn’t stop there, because the barriers were predictably clogged and it took another 14 hours straight to get through. While waiting for a plane to take him from Warsaw to Tel Aviv, Solomon reassured everyone about his health. Meanwhile, Shakhtar is also struggling with the situation of Junior Moraes, a Brazilian striker who has played in Ukraine since 2012 and took a local passport in 2019: he cannot leave the country and could even be called up.
