Drug seizure at Schiphol leads to Amsterdam suspect with 18 kilos of ecstasy pills in his home

The Royal Military Police arrested an Amsterdam resident in his home on Tuesday for involvement in a major drug smuggling case. The man is suspected of having ordered three major drug smuggling operations at Schiphol in September this year.

During the arrest in the house in Amsterdam, the Marechaussee found a large quantity of narcotics, including 18 kilos of ecstasy pills.

The man came into the picture in the investigation that the Schiphol Drugs Team started after two previous arrests at the airport. On September 17, a man was arrested at Schiphol for trying to smuggle 8 kilos of ecstasy pills to Gambia. A day later, two men tried the same thing with 9 and 10 kilos of ecstasy.

The Public Prosecution Service is further investigating more people involved in drug smuggling. Possible other clients are also being sought.
