Two men were arrested in Hernen in Gelderland after a kilometers-long chase on the A50. The chase went through Brabant at the end of the afternoon on Wednesday, where several police cars drove after the fleeing men.
The men drove across the emergency lane and overtook other cars. At least eight police cars followed the men from Eindhoven in the direction of Gelderland. A car was almost rammed by the suspects when they ended up on the wrong side of the road.
The chase eventually stopped in Hernen, just on the other side of the Maas, after the pair drove into the back of another car. The car was then stopped by the police. The men were removed from the car and arrested.
The police have not yet said what preceded the chase. “It has to do with an incident earlier in the afternoon. That is still part of the investigation,” says a spokesperson for the police in Gelderland. The spokesperson could also not say where the incident took place.
