Timmermans still thinks that VVD should join the opposition

GroenLinks-PvdA party leader Frans Timmermans repeats what he said earlier in an interview in NRC: that he would rather not govern with the VVD again. “It would be good if the party that has been in government for 13 years would sit down for a while and recharge its batteries.”

VVD leader Dilan Yesilgöz was not given the opportunity to respond. She already did that in an interview with NRC last Saturday. In it she mentioned the ostentatious rejection of Timmerman’s “old politics” because it is “only about puppets”.
In terms of content, Yesilgöz said he saw many differences with GroenLinks-PvdA, for example on climate and migration. “I see that the risk of watery compromises with his party is high.”
