In the current championship two more times – before the episode against Udinese – the Rossoneri felt heavily damaged by referee decisions
The list of alleged or real crimes for the Rossoneri world is long like this. On the web there are fans who have composed lists full of j’accuse to the referees. But there are two, in particular, the episodes from which Milan came out penalized, especially in relation to the final result. We are talking about Milan Napoli (0-1) on December 19th and Milan-Spezia (1-2) on January 17th. In both cases, the AC Milan club felt damaged by the referees’ decisions.

Referee Massa, Di Paolo al Var. The key episode of the match takes place at 44’11 “of the second half: cross from the left by Ballo Touré, ball in full area and headed by Giroud, the ball returns to the ground and a tackle Lobotka-Kalulu deflects it towards Castillejo who receives the slip of Ghoulam with consequent displacement of the ball itself in the center of the area where Kessie is. Massa concedes the goal but Di Paolo calls him back to the “Ofr”: Giroud’s offside is evident but the field of interpretation will lead to endless discussion. Massa looks and changes his mind, when the initial decision was the most correct. The French striker is in short, yes, offside but “lying” and in a situation consequential to an aerial duel and therefore not sought or created. The idea that it influences or conditions therefore seems excessive: being right on the ground, it is excessive to define participation in active action. Right for the Var to intervene, but the final choice must be the referee who in this case had given the goal and then had to explain to the players, after the final whistle, that the offside had become active. the contact creates interference and this may have led to cancellation. Excessive, however, in this case.

Referee Serra, Duties to the Var. We are in recovery, score 1-1, when Rebic is fouled by Bastoni at 25 meters. The ball ends immediately after Messias, who with a great shot around bags what would be the goal of the Rossoneri 2-1. The conditional is a must, because the game was, in fact, interrupted just before by Serra’s whistle. No goals, but punishment for Milan. The referee’s immediate apologies are of little use: the advantage, although at the discretion of the referee, was at least due. And Pioli’s team would have probably won the game. Which he will then lose sensationally at the last minute.
