The Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) have responded to their numerous offensive failures and signed NHL-experienced striker Tyler Ennis.
The 34-year-old Canadian played a total of 724 games in the best league in the world during his career and has a contract until the end of the season.
After the absences of Matthias Plachta, Ryan MacInnis and Jordan Szwarz, national player Stefan Loibl was recently injured for the Eagles.
“After the long-term failures in the offensive area, we had to act,” said sports manager Jan-Axel Alavaara: “Tyler is very experienced, an absolute leader. He has a high level of game intelligence, knows how to put his teammates in the spotlight and is also even dangerous to score.”
Ennis was drafted by the Buffalo Sabers in the first round in 2008, 26th overall. He also played in the NHL for the Minnesota Wild, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Ottawa Senators and the Edmonton Oilers.
