Rob Jetten confirms the juice that he would drink coffee in the shower. According to the leader of D66, it is not a monkey story. “I really like it,” he says.
Last summer, De Groene Amsterdammer came up with a striking gossip about Rob Jetten. One of his sports buddies reportedly stated that the politician drinks coffee while showering. Very strange, because most people mainly use shower gel and shampoo. Is this all correct?
Coffee in the shower
Yes, this is correct. Rob Jetten confirms the news during an interview with the magazine New Revu. “I really like it. I want to exercise in the morning, so a lot has to be done between six and eight, including drinking coffee. I would really try it once if I were you,” said the politician.
According to Rob, it is not as eccentric as it seems. “I was once approached about it on the train by a man who said: I read about that coffee in your shower, I tried it myself this morning, and it is really tasty. So I’m not the only one.”
Exercise in the morning
Does Rob also exercise in the shower? No, he will do that at another time. “This morning I went kickboxing, but that was at seven o’clock. Exercising is my outlet, if I don’t do that, I get grumpy.”
Fortunately, getting up early is accompanied by a good night’s sleep. Fortunately, he doesn’t spend much time on his grooming. “My hair always looks the same. It’s just wet hair, one comb through it, and it’s like this – I can’t do anything about it.”
Robot Jetten
By the way, how does Rob look back on that awkward interview with Frits Wester in 2018? He then reacted so stiffly that he earned the nickname Robot Jetten. “I didn’t expect that he would post that clip in its entirety on his Twitter account,” he said at the time, somewhat testily.
Rob has had a small robot on his desk ever since. “I think self-mockery is a nice way to deal with serious things. Especially in politics, people should not take themselves too seriously, which helps to put things into perspective. (…) I remember when I was standing there I thought: this is going completely wrong. (…) The robot that friends gave me helped enormously afterwards.”
