A staff member who was allegedly involved in the disappearances was fired and the director resigned due to negligence.
The museum, which houses World Heritage treasures such as the Rosetta Stone (which could be used to decipher hieroglyphs), previously involved the British public in recovering a large number of missing objects. Several hundred of them are now back on track.
