Oliver Hein, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the S. Oliver Group, and the Rottendorf-based clothing supplier are going their separate ways.
Hein is leaving the group “at his own request to take on new challenges,” the S.Oliver Group announced on Monday. Thomas Rothe will be his successor on February 1st. Hein will also continue to support the company in an advisory capacity on selected topics.
In his new role, Rothe will be responsible for supply chain management, sustainability and logistics as well as multichannel merchandising. The aim is to “further verticalize the processes with new technologies and ongoing automation, to align them as best as possible with the needs” of trading partners and end customers “and thereby ensure a correspondingly reliable and even faster customer supply.” says from Rottendorf. The launch of the new Logistics Service Center in Dettelbach in spring 2024 will also be one of the central tasks for him.
Wöhrl board member moves to S.Oliver Group
Rothe is currently working for the Franconian clothing retailer Rudolf Wöhrl SE, where he has been part of the board as COO since June 2021 and, with the departure of sales boss Martin Barzauner, is currently only leading it with CEO Thomas Weckerlein. Rothe came to Wöhrl in January 2021 from the textile discounter Adler Modemarken, where he took on the role of division manager for the purchasing and supply chain management departments. Further stations included Takko Fashion GmbH, where as a member of the management from 2013 to 2017 he was responsible for the areas of planning and allocation and was responsible for demand-oriented product range planning and supply chain processes for the company’s omnichannel presence.
“In particular, the goods value chain should be aligned even more closely with customer needs as part of new digital merchandising processes,” said Jürgen Otto, CEO of the S.Oliver Group, about Rothe’s appointment. “We would like to take into account the performance of our global sourcing agencies and suppliers and further deepen our collaboration.”
Hein has been part of the management of the S.Oliver Group since mid-2020. During his time as COO, where he was responsible for the areas of supply chain management, sustainability and logistics, there was a particular focus on process optimization. This includes the digitalization of the product development process as well as collaboration with suppliers and increasing efficiency through insourcing the logistics processes. In addition to S.Oliver, he also worked for the Düsseldorf fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg and the Calvin Klein brand, among others.
“I would like to thank Oliver Hein on behalf of the management for his great commitment and dedication,” said Otto. “He and his teams played a key role in driving forward the digitalization of the entire process chain right through to the integration of suppliers and made a major contribution to sustainable logistics processes in the new logistics center.”
