Fenerbahçe Sports Club Infrastructure Manager Özgür Özaktaç shared a statement from his personal social media account regarding the allegations that Arda Güler and the academy player tracking unit in the yellow-dark blue team were closed.
Özaktaç made the following statements in his statement:
“Despite those who think that ‘this transfer is people-oriented, it developed almost by chance’, Arda Güler was a player who played in Turkish mixed, went to tournaments, and was on the radar of big clubs before he was 14 years old. Arda Güler became a part of our Fenerbahce with the intervention of our President Ali Koç, the fact that Arda and his precious family are fans of Fenerbahce, and our Arda is a fan of Alex de Souza, in addition to all these, with the material and moral steps taken by our Club. We would like to thank one of the well-established clubs of our country, Gençlerbirliği, for their positive approach in the transfer.
Another issue; The claim that our academy’s player monitoring unit has been shut down.. This illogical claim has absolutely nothing to do with reality. The player monitoring unit of our academy continues its activities with a constantly developing approach and changing system. Dozens of players are watched from all over Turkey, and transfers to different age groups continue. Compared to the previous period, which was called closed, a player pool and monitoring / tracking system covering the whole of Turkey has been established. It is not fixed to a single region and city. In the coming period, if necessary, I will also share details and statistics about the past period. I ask our community not to be part of unrealistic agendas and not to take into account the negative claims about our academy.”
