The Ducati champion isn’t discouraged after being excluded from Q2 in Free Practice 2: “The electronics need to be sorted out, but I have a good feeling and I’m calm: I’m sure we’ll solve the problem and we’ll be up front fighting”
Serene despite the result and aware of his chances of being able to go back upstream. Pecco Bagnaia he doesn’t make any dramas after the 16th place in Free Practice 2 of the MotoGP Indonesian GP which will force him to compete in Q1 in the next Italian night. “I never expected to stay out of Q2 given the feeling – Bagnaia’s words to GPOne -. Finally I was back to having good sensations when braking and when entering corners and also good grip, which I had lacked compared to Martin in the last period. There were all the conditions to do well, but it goes found the square with the electronics that doesn’t fit the situation.”

Pecco then explains the mistake on his last lap which condemned him to go through Q1, a situation he had experienced forlast time in the Spanish GP. “The rear is so nervous, on the last lap the bike took off when braking at turn 14 and went like a knife: we are working on this and luckily the electronics are easier to manage than the chassis. It makes you calmer, but you have to find the solution. Q1? L’last time that I had to face it was a Jerez: I was slow and couldn’t find myself, but then we won the GP…”.

Bagnaia then analyzes with serenity the aspects that give him hope. “In terms of race pace, I’m aligned with the fastest: I think I was even faster than Martin, but I lack a bit of feeling when the front tire starts to wear off – says Pecco -. We have a rather high consumption, but we’re not I’m in bad shape very good with the setting and the last one to fall down in these situations is me because I have a team that helps me and when a problem is very limited, I know I can feel comfortable. We’re out of Q2, but I’m convinced that we will solve our problems and we will be there up front to fight, even if the clean line is very narrow and starting from behind could be a big problem.”
