The production team of Art Rooijakkers has tried to get Angela de Jong for his celebrity panel show Praat Nederlands Met Me. “They wanted to pay me 1,500 euros.”
Angela de Jong can regularly be seen on television, but as a talk show guest to talk about TV topics. She does not want to participate in celebrity programs such as Ik Hou Van Holland, even though she regularly receives invitations to do so. Which one did she put aside last? That of Art Rooijakkers.
No to 1,500 euros
Art’s team really wanted Angela on the show, but she’s not interested. “I was asked for Praat Nederlands Met Me with Art Rooijakkers. I don’t do things like that, so I just said no again. But I was really surprised at the wages that are paid nowadays,” she says in the AD Media podcast.
Why? “You just get 1,500 euros for that. For an afternoon, eh? Previously, a few years ago, it was still the standard 1,000 euros, but the inflation correction is very much applied for celebrities.”
‘With Art? Please!’
However, Angela does not find that salary convincing enough. “I said, ‘No, you don’t have six grand and a Tesla? Then I get out of bed.’ No, yes, you know: I’m not going to be in a game like that with Art Rooijakkers. Please.”
Angela thinks it is ‘really quickly earned for an afternoon’, even after the tax payment. “If there is 750 euros left over, it will be quickly earned. But I am not self-employed, I am just employed by the AD. I’m fine with talking about my work on a talk show, but I’m not going to participate in those games. No, I’m not paid for that either, no.”
