Max Verstappen takes pole position at F1 Qatar Grand Prix



Max Verstappen, the Dutch pilot of the Red Bull team, will start from the first row in the Qatar Grand Prix, the 18th leg of the season in the Formula 1 World Championship.


Verstappen, who achieved a time of 1 minute and 23.778 seconds in the qualifying rounds held on the 5,419-kilometer track with the same name as Lusail city of Qatar, won the first pocket.


George Russell (Mercedes) came in second, 0.441 seconds behind the Dutch driver, and his teammate Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who lapped the track 0.527 seconds slower, took third place.


The sprint qualifying round of the Qatar Grand Prix will be held tomorrow at 20.30 GMT. The 57-lap race will start on Sunday, October 8, at 20.00 GMT.
