Telstar suffered a 2-0 defeat against FC Emmen tonight. The new bottom of the first division had several chances to score a goal in the second half, but failed several times. Striker Danzell Gravenberch was the most dangerous man on behalf of Telstar with three dangerous goal attempts. “We also lacked a bit of luck.”
“I don’t think this defeat was necessary. We just conceded two annoying goals in the first half,” Gravenberch said afterwards. “We really created a lot more in the second half. Losing 2-0 was really not necessary here.”
Goalkeeper in half
Telstar coach Mike Snoei was also disappointed with the missed opportunities. “It was mainly our fault today. I can praise our second half, but we missed too many chances. Danzell shot the keeper in half three times and also hit the post once.”
“What else were those 8,000 people watching in the second half?”
“When Danzell hits the ball on the post, you hear a lot more grumbling from the stands,” said Snoei about the strong phase after half-time. “I just said: ‘What were those 8,000 people watching in the second half?’
