His last tweet simply said “LET’S GOOOOOOOO.” The timing was unfortunate, as it was precisely at that moment that the Russian attack on Ukraine had begun.
When followers pointed this out to The Weeknd, he immediately retracted the tweet. “Unfortunately, I am only now seeing what has happened to the conflict and that is why we will postpone tomorrow’s announcement,” the singer said.
It’s not clear what The Weeknd’s news was about. There is speculation that new music from the singer may already be released. His fifth studio album Dawn FM came out in January.
