Alba Berlin wins away in the Euroleague – rbb – regional

Fresh from the cup weekend, the Albatrosses wanted to take the euphoria with them to the Euroleague. In Villeurbanne, however, the game was balanced over long stretches. The Berliners were ahead for a long time, but were never able to develop a real lead. This was mainly due to the many ball losses on the offensive.

The game got really exciting in the last and decisive quarter. After one run, Alba had pulled away with an eight-point lead shortly before the end and the game seemed to be won. But then they became unfocused and allowed the hosts to come back with unnecessary mistakes.

Last second decision

Five seconds from time, Villerbanne then had the chance to equalize and bring the game into overtime. However, Chris Jones was blocked when attempting to throw by Berlin’s Jaleen Smith, who ensured the victory for the albatrosses with this defensive action.

In the table, Alba has passed Villerbanne and is in 14th place. The Euroleague continues on March 3rd. Then the albatrosses receive the Lithuanian record champion Zalgaris Kaunas in the capital.
