At the end of the afternoon, a person was seriously injured after a shooting incident on the cycle path near Maria in Campislaan in Assen. According to the police, no one has been arrested yet and an investigation into what exactly happened is underway.
The incident took place around 5:45 p.m. near the Larch Park, after which several emergency services rushed to that location. Eyewitnesses saw the victim lying on the ground for several minutes, after which ambulance personnel took care of the victim. Not long after, the person was taken to hospital.
Police then searched the area in bulletproof vests, but indicate that no one has yet been arrested as a result of the shooting incident.
