The luxury group Prada has announced a change within its design team. Long-time design director Fabio Zambernardi had previously resigned from his position after 40 years.
In his place, Luigi Preziotti was appointed design director of the Prada brand. He is another veteran of the Italian fashion house and has been part of the group since 2002. Most recently, he worked as design director for women’s fashion.
Like Zambernardi, Preziotti will work with co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons on the “development of concepts, fashion shows and activities related to the brand’s image and identity,” according to an internal communication obtained by the news portal MF Fashion .
Dario Vitale will now take over the management of the Miu Miu brand and will report directly to Miuccia Prada after the brand’s fashion show on October 3rd, following the final departure of Zambernardi, who also headed Prada’s sister brand.
Prada Group has undergone a leadership change in recent months amid continued reports of “solid results” across its portfolio.
In January, Andrea Guerra joined the group as chief executive officer as the company announced a “strong start to the year” with growth across all markets and product categories, as well as a recovery in demand in China.
