Boat capsizes on Volkerak: one person rescued, one dead, two missing

A fishing boat capsized on the Volkerak near Dinteloord and most likely three people were killed. One person on board was rescued from the water. One other person on board has died. The accident happened shortly after half past five on Tuesday afternoon due to an unknown cause. The police suspect that the victims are four Germans. The search for the two missing people is still ongoing. The boat in which the anglers were traveling capsized for an unknown reason.

It would be a small recreational vessel with which fishermen take to the water. The emergency services have been deployed en masse, Rijkswaterstaat has deployed three ships. Two trauma helicopters have also been called in. A major search operation has been launched to find the victims.
