But now the scenario has changed. After the failure last week of the leader of the PP, the moment of truth has arrived. The idea with which the socialists are working, as this newspaper advanced, is that the investiture debate and the formation of the Government take place before the end October. Even so, they emphasize that it not only depends on them, but on the parties to which they appeal. Republicans and post-convergents gave a “scare” to the PSOE last Thursday, when approving a resolution in the Parliament in which they conditioned their support for Sánchez on his “committing to work to make effective the conditions for the holding a referendum” on the independence of Catalonia. A call of this type had never been part of the negotiations, and the socialists made it clear that day through a statement that they were not willing to go through that. It was a touch of attention.
