Mayor Renze Bergsma is shocked by this morning’s shooting and stabbing incident in Coevorden. “Fortunately, there were no fatalities,” the mayor said in a response.
“It’s bizarre that this is apparently the order of the day. I was on site this morning to get a good idea of what happened. The police took adequate action and are conducting an extensive investigation,” said the mayor.
The mayor and the police do not want to say what exactly happened this morning. So far it is clear that several people are involved in a shooting and stabbing incident at the Oystercatcher. At least two people were injured. One has a gunshot wound, and the other has a stab wound. The police have arrested an underage boy.
The investigation into the Oystercatcher has been completed, but other suspects are still being sought. The police cannot say how many there are.
