Kölner Haie take the lead in the DEL

After the defeat in the Rhine derby against Düsseldorfer EG, the Kölner Haie have returned to the top of the table in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

At the Iserlohn Roosters, coach Uwe Krupp’s team won 6:3 (1:1, 0:1, 5:1) thanks to a strong final third and moved past Adler Mannheim (12) with 13 points.

At Seilersee the guests turned the game around in the last 20 minutes. Nicholas Bailen (42nd), Justin Schütz (46th), Alexandre Grenier (50th) and Andreas Thuresson (59th) turned a 1:2 into a 5:2.

Schütz had already made it 1-0 (5th) and recorded three scorer points. The final point was David McIntyre (60th) in front of 3,943 spectators. Colin Ugbekile (13th), Florian Elias (40th) and Tyler Boland (60th) scored for the Roosters.

Cologne started the season with three wins in regular time, only in the duel with DEG (3:4 nP) did the Haie drop points last Sunday. Iserlohn (4) is twelfth in the table.
