Super League 1
Transfermarkt has subjected the market values of the Greek Super League 1 to an interim update. The biggest winner is center forward Levi García from the ranks of double winner AEK Athens. The 25-year-old Trinidad national player increased his previous high market value of 7 million by another 5 million euros, making him the second most valuable player in the league.
The sought-after left-footer has consistently continued his positive market value development since arriving from Jerusalem three years ago – from 1.8 million at that time, the current update has increased it to 12 million euros.
In the summer, the courting for the player did not stop, Burnley and Lens submitted offers in Athens, some with a total volume of up to 22 million euros. Despite the advertising of other clubs, García committed himself to the “Kitrinomavri” and extended his contract until 2028. According to reports, he is now one of the highest earners in the league.
With 25 scorers across all competitions, the attacker, who can be used flexibly on the wings and in the center, made a significant contribution last season to the capital city club achieving the double of championship and cup victory after five years without a title. Overall, García has 32 goals and 21 assists in 114 games for AEK.
Still, it wasn’t quite enough to take the Greek market value throne. The Portuguese Daniel Podence from Olympiacos Piraeus is still there, and after a loss of 5 million euros, he is now valued at 15 million euros.
The winger returned to Greece on loan from Wolverhampton in September. For the “Wolves”, where his contract runs until 2025, Podence played 32 Premier League games last season and scored six goals. After the offensive transfers of, among others, Matheus Cunha, Enso González and the returnee Fábio Silva, the prospect of playing time in England diminished – according to reports, Piraeus, where the attacker was already active between 2018 and 2020, has a purchase option that amounts to just €5 million. Euro was set.

Panathinaikos’ Willian Arão also received a devaluation. For the 31-year-old Brazilian it goes from 6 million to 3.5 million euros, whereby age and an adjustment to the transfer fee transferred by the Athenians to Fenerbahce in August were taken into account.
Meanwhile, things were looking up for Salonika’s Giannis Konstantelias, who recorded the second largest jump as a result of the update with 2 million euros. The youngster, who is one of the 30 nominees for the Golden Boy Award this year, is now valued at 8 million euros. In the summer there was interest from Salzburg in the attacking midfielder, among others; the Austrians reportedly offered 12 million euros for Konstantelias, whose contract with PAOK runs until 2027.
Some well-known faces from the Bundesliga are now also making their living in Super League 1. One of them is the former Wolfsburg player Vieirinha (PAOK), for whom the price fell from 400,000 to 300,000 euros as a result of the update. Ex-Munich and Piraeus loanee Omar Richards (€5 million), team-mate Stevan Jovetic (formerly from Hertha, €1.5 million), ex-Bremer László Kleinheisler (Panathinaikos, €1.8 million) and Augsburg’s record departure Abdul Rahman Baba (PAOK, €1.2 million) was not revalued.
This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
