Third division soccer team 1. FC Saarbrücken will have to do without the seriously injured veteran Patrick Schmidt for at least six months.
The former Heidenheimer suffered a broken tibia and fibula in the 0-0 draw at SpVgg Unterhaching on Sunday, and Schmidt has to undergo several operations.
As the club announced, Schmidt had already been “prepared with fixators for a necessary second operation at the end of this week” during a first operation in Munich.
