A distribution center of the financially shaky electronics store chain BCC in Almere was blocked again on Monday morning.
CEO Caspar Klinkhamer confirms this after reporting from Omroep Flevoland. These are the same angry transport companies that briefly took action at the location last Thursday. BCC had just applied for deferment of payment. The entrepreneurs complain that their invoices have not been paid for a long time. Owner Sadi Iz of Verhuisdeal24.nl estimates that he still needs to receive approximately 200,000 euros from the electronics chain.
According to Iz, his company and fellow blocker Verhuisbedrijfklaver are the main delivery companies for BCC, for example, for the delivery of washing machines. On Thursday they heard that their work was suddenly stopped, but they did not hear anything about their money yet.
‘Distribution center gates are closed’
Iz says the blockade will continue until the entrepreneurs are paid. “The gates of the distribution center are closed and the staff has been sent home,” the entrepreneur said. On Tuesday they want to expand the promotion to Delft.
Klinkhamer says he will provide a more detailed response soon. The CEO could already say that all 55 stores of the chain have been open again since last weekend. Things remained quiet in those stores and everything went well.
BCC closed 42 stores on Thursday because it first wanted to arrange security. According to Klinkhamer, emotions can run high in the event of an impending bankruptcy if customers want to return a purchase.
