The Ice Hockey Association says that the president of the association is not Harri Nummela continue for a fourth term. He doesn’t say the exact reason for his decision, but mentions that the union needs renewal.

During Nummela’s chairmanship, there has been enough activity in the Ice Hockey Federation. Between 2016 and 2023, Finland has organized two men’s World Cups and one women’s World Cup tournament, celebrated Olympic gold and two world championships.
The union has also struggled with uproar. Within the last year, it has dealt with, for example, the return of the Jokers and the coach’s uproar at Naisleijon.
New chairman in November
Elected chairman of the Federal Council Pasi Kainulainen says that he understands Nummela, who is sidelined, and hopes that he will continue working in hockey.

The association will be looking for candidates for the next few weeks and will choose a new chairman on November 25. At the same time, the federal council decides on the other new members of the board.
The new board of the Ice Hockey Association will start at the beginning of next year.
