After six years another Hoppes procession
It was a colorful spectacle, with 1,300 extras telling the story of the hops, from cultivation to processing the products. Jean-Marie Tahon, director: “In the beginning we had a bit of trouble filling certain groups, especially the children’s groups because they didn’t know what it was. Normally it is every three years. Then they have a brother or sister who has already participated. But many children this year did not know what it was at all.”
The entire history of the hop came back to life: the pickers, the processing, the enemies, the aphids and the red spiders. And finally, the typical regional products made with hops were also discussed.
