MSV Duisburg carelessly squandered its breakthrough in the 3rd football league and suffered a very bitter defeat.
In the home game against SC Verl, the still winless Duisburg team lost 2:3 (2:1) despite a 2-0 lead and remain in a relegation zone with three points. Verl (7 points) climbed to twelfth place thanks to the outstanding Mael Corboz.
The Zebras got off to a brilliant start at Wedau with goals from Joshua Bitter (9th) and Sebastian Mai (13th).
Captain Corboz’s brace (45’/56′) brought the Verlers level, before Corboz scored his third goal in stoppage time (90’+3) to secure victory for the Verlers, who were unbeaten for the third time in a row.
