Cyclist dies after collision in Ostend

In Ostend this afternoon, just after 3 p.m., an 89-year-old Ostend resident died after he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. The man died on the spot. The accident happened in Elisabethlaan at the intersection with Generaal Jungbluthlaan. The 20-year-old driver blew the whistle and gave a negative saliva test. A traffic expert was appointed and the matter is being further investigated.
